BENEFIT: Greenport Waiters’ Race hosted by The Market

The 7th Annual North Fork Waiter Race will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 10 a.m. in Greenport at the ELIH Opportunity Shop on Main Street (side entrance of ELIH across from Chase) and ends in front of The Market. Hosted by The Market located in Greenport, the fun and fast-paced event always delights spectators. Participants have to reach the finish line by walking as fast as possible while balancing a filled stemmed glass on a serving tray. roceeds benefit Eastern Long Island Hospital’s physical therapy and fitness program. Spectators are welcome to cheer their favorite waiter or sponsor a server. Applications and an entry fee of $50 are due no later than Friday, June 1 at noon. Participants are encouraged to raise funds and get sponsors to garner greater amounts of prize money. All funds raised will be divided between Eastern Long Island Hospital and the winners of the race. Cash prizes will be given to first, second and third place winners.
